It is no chance that the first two goals on the list of the Sustainable Development Goals are to eradicate poverty and hunger. The creators of the SDGs reckon that the first level of empowerment that can be given to any human is food as no man can focus on becoming better with a hungry stomach.

Eliminating hunger by making food available to the poorest of the poor is at the core of the charitable activity at The Joshua Okeowo Foundation; this we do by distributing food packs weekly to rural communities around the country. We leverage our trusted distribution partners to ensure that the food packs reach those it was intended for.

Through our food programs, we strive to combat hunger derived from poverty. We work closely with churches and other religious bodies, local communities, food banks, FMCGs and agricultural partners to ensure a consistent supply of nutritious food relief boxes for those in need.

From April 2020, COVID19 hit Nigeria and this led to a total lockdown, which in turn caused an economic downturn as businesses had to shut down and people who relied on daly subsistence income couldn’t conduct their petty businesses; this led to increased level of hunger in a country already ravaged by poverty and hunger. The unpalatable
economic condition led the foundation to triple the food distribution to different parts of the country as palliatives.

Our focus is to eliminate hunger by catering to the hunger needs of the financially vulnerable. Currently. The Joshua Okeowo Foundation provides food supplies to over 8,000 homes on a monthly basis.
